Rise on the Road (ROTR) is entering its second summer and we are excited for all that will be happening. We will have well over 300 people participate in Rise on the Road during the summer of 2009. We will be serving in 4 locations – three in Iowa and one in Alaska. 

 

ROTR is partnering with the Heartland Synod of the RCA and heading to Parkersburg June 10-14, where we will continue with the clean up and rebuilding efforts following the tornado last May 2008. This site is full (with nearly 250 people) and we look forward to experiencing this shared partnership with the RCA! Following this weekend ROTR will happen in 2 locations the following week. 

 

On June 13 a group will fly to Anchorage, Alaska to work with the Crosspoint Community Church and help lead a Kids Camp for 90+ kids. This group will be there for one week, returning on June 20. 

 

June 18 a group of 60+ will arrive in Orange City to partner with RiseFest. This group will work with The Bridge and Love, INC and also have the opportunity to enjoy RISE Ministries annual RiseFest in Orange City on June 20. 

 

ROTR will enjoy one last weekend, in the Okoboji area July 23 to 26. We will serve in a variety of ways, including working with the following: Dickinson County Community Garden, the Cherish Center/Thee Garage Sale, the Okoboji Bible Conference and the Discovery House – among other locations.   Cleaning, yard work and painting are on the agenda for most of these locations.
