11.22.11 - RiseFest in Sheldon
RISEFEST TO MOVE LOCATIONS FOR 2012
RiseFest will take place this next summer on Saturday, June 16 in Sheldon, Iowa. The family-friendly festival, which will feature well-known Christian bands and speakers, will take place in a new location at the Sheldon Crossing on the bypass of Highways 60 and 18.
“After being invited to host the festival in Sheldon and after many meetings and months of prayer we have looked at the future of RiseFest,” said RISE Ministiries Founder and President Rob Roozeboom. “Although we are very grateful to the city of Orange City and Northwestern College, the RISE team and board is excited about the move to Sheldon because it allows for the opportunity to potentially turn RiseFest into a two-day event. It is also where our RISE offices are, so logistically, it makes sense.”
The festival includes top, Christian bands, seminars, and speakers. Children can play games and make crafts in the RiseFest Kid’s Zone. The day also kicks off with the Rise Run 5k/10k run/walk. Band lineups and new location maps will be available at www.riseministries.com/risefest.
The festival is the seventh such event that RISE has hosted. The previous six have all been held in Orange City, Iowa. The change of location for this year’s festival has added excitement and created new opportunities for people to become involved. RISE, along with its sponsors, seek to make the atmosphere of the event fun for all ages.
“We have seen passionate support from the city of Sheldon surrounding the festival. Although the setting will be different this year, the mission, music, and feel of RiseFest will not change,” said Roozeboom. “RiseFest is more than music, it’s a mission.”
